Description
Roman and Medieval Bonze Holy Land Selection (Pendant, ring, spatula etc) Miscellaneous selection of Roman and Medieval bronze items:1 - Small ivy leaf Roman period pendant with hole in center and bent over slab loop.  This pendant was used so long the ring holding the pendant has nearly worn through. 2 - Roman period bronze spatula/scrapper. 3 - Two medieval period bronze ring fragments. 4 - One hand made bronze medieval bracelet fragment with rope twist and wave pattern. 5 - Five other pieces of links, chains and other medieval period items. These pieces are from the old Tucson estate of Mr. Eugene B. Thomas.  Mr. Thomas was an amateur archeologist and engineer who worked in Israel in the 1950s and was given written permission to collect artifacts from work sites so that experts could be shown materials from the area. He was often allowed to keep artifact for his collection.  He was also very detailed in his documentation, labeling all items with the name of recovery location. In addition to myself this piece has been verified by  Fred Gumbart.  Mr. Fred Gumbart is the owner/appraiser of Arizona Galleries (520-322-6388). He specializes (by appointment only) in consultations, and he is an official, licensed, and accredited appraiser of Fine Period Antiques, Fine Art, Ethnographic Art, Pre-Columbian Art and the Asian Arts.  Fred is a lifelong, serious collector of art, antiques and artifacts, and has been seen on the PBS History Detectives TV Show concerning antiques and artifacts.   If you have any questions or require additional information please call me at 520-429-0177. Refunds will be made only upon receipt by me (within 14 days of buyer's receipt of the item), of a written verification from a major University Department Head or Major Museum Curator from a recognized institution in the appropriate field. Note: For International sales, buyer is responsible for all import duty taxes.
