Typical shape and design of the rim.  Both are stamped with three "LION" hallmarks on the obverse of the rim.  These are a "true" pair.   These plates are untouched and uncleaned.  There are no rips or cuts or holes.  Like usual there are some slight bumps and bends and knife marks.  The Lion hallmarks are probably 19th Century additions. They are slightly different in design and the use of only three hallmarks in 17th or 18th Century English pewter is extremely unusual.  These rare plates are only 5" across.  Very rare to find flat rim pewter plates anymore, especially a true matched pair.  Nice color and Patina.
