Description
This terra cotta mask of a face with feline attributes is from the Tlatilco Culture, central Mexico Highlands, 1150-550 BC. The Tlatilco Culture is one of the earliest known civilizations in Mexico. The mask is on a plexiglass stand (included in the sale of the mask). The mask measures 4 inches in diameter. The mask and stand together are 6 1/4 inches in height. The mask has been professionally repaired. It is in excellent condition. The mask was purchased in 1988 in Chicago from a reputable dealer of Pre-Columbian art.
