Description
This mold-made figure of a woman is from the island of Jaina, off the coast of the Yucatan, Mexico. This figure is probably a priestess. She has an elaborate headdress, jewelry and robes. She is also a rattle. Figures from Jaina are frequently found in the numerous grave offerings there. Moreover, female priestess figures are well known. Mold-made figures often appear to lack crispness due to the soft set in the mold and/or erosion. This figure is mint crisp. It must have been an ideal set in the mold and have come from a tomb that remained dry through the centuries. The figure is 7 1/2 inches tall; 3 1/2 inches at its widest point, and 2 inches deep. The piece has been professionally repaired, but all pieces are from the original figure. Otherwise, the figure is in excellent condition. Shipping and insurance are free with the purchase of this item. Guarantee: I guarantee this figure is ancient as described. You have 10 days after receipt of the figure to validate its authenticity. If you do not feel the figure is ancient as described, and you can give adequate reasons for your concerns, you may return the figure to me (paying shipping and insurance costs) and I will refund your purchase price. While I am sure of the quality of the figure, I wouldn't want you to be unhappy with your purchase.
