Description
PLAIN RIMMED ANTIQUE PEWTER PLATE 9 ½” diam – worn marks This dark pewter plate could do with a little TLC. Knife marks show to the base along with an incised circular line. To the back the remains of two touches showing the horses leg rising from the coronet which might represent one of many pewterers from the 1700s but likely one of the Duncombes. Simple ownership triad of P over I I could and for example only represent say - John and Joan Phillips. The plate weighs 506 grams. UK cheques are also accepted in payment. For my pewter I find that I add 50-70% - depending on size and on how the piece needs protecting - to the weight of the piece for packaging materials (and I usually quote the piece weight in the eBay copy so I can calculate shipping more easily) So if it weighs 500gms I look at the 750 gm rate or next band 1 kilo rate depending on what needs good protection. This is mentioned here so you can try it for yourself - but I am always pleased to quote - a firm price. And I am happy to work with anyone who can do it better at their own risk, through their own contacts.
