Don't miss it! Look at this very interesting and scarce find. It is an early Canteen or Flask, used for carrying water or other liquid while on the road It is Turkish or Ottoman in origin, and it was made in the European part of the then large Ottoman empire Dates back to the second half of the 18th century The decoration were hand point-embossed. They are all Geometric, characteristic of Orthodox Islamic items, which forbid the portrayal of humans and animals Made out of low-grade silver sheets which were hammered and shaped, and then soldered together. There are two spouts - one for drinking/filling, and the other for the air This type of canteens or flasks are EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND as they were used for a short period of time For over 25 yrs. in the Antiques business, we have only come across a handful of them It is silver to keep the water fresh and safe to drink longer Measurements:  Approx. 6" diameter (not including the spouts), 4.25" wide Condition: Excellent + overall, EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION.
