By English law all pewter had to be maker stamped from the year 1530. The detail on this tankard indicates that is is indeed of English origin, however there is no makers mark to the base, suggesting that this example dates to pre 1530. We have dated to c1525 - the reign of King Henry VII, however this could be an earlier example. The detail on the tankard certainly relates to this period, but if a viewer of this listing can give any additional information we would be very grateful. Measures: Just under 5 inches in height. Condition: No tears to the pewter.  Water-tight.  The handle is slightly pushed into the side of the tankard and the tankard is slightly mis-shapen at the top rim.
