This is an early piece, definitely older than 19th century The thread with which the crucifix was sewn is Golden, and there are many Precious stones For each stone, there was a separately hand made custom setting We do not know whether these are Precious stones or just high quality crystals or even glass, as we are not jewelry experts The matting is velvet All Hand Made!!!! Seems like It was a piece of a robe or other clothing, and was later transferred onto this wooden panel This panel was probably made to decorate a reliquary, or just to hang on the wall. We do not know for sure Measurements: Approx. 29" x 23" outer dimension, 21" x 17" the inner embroidery Condition: VG+ / Excellent overall, the photos show its great condition! No Missing Stones, the usual wear from the age. The top layer of the fabric has fallen apart on some spots due to its GREAT AGE, but the embroidery is still FULLY INTACT!
