The blade along measures 38” long by 2” wide at the hand made brass guard. I know the wood handle looks unusual, but it is original. If you look at the leather covered end of the handle you will see three rows of the original rawhide leather that covered this handle and made the grip. The most unusual feature of this early Persian Sword is the two rows of writing that is etched on both sides of the blade. This is either a very long Islamic prayer or a short story. Aside for the missing leather wrap this early 19th century Persian Sword is in perfect original condition and there are no repairs. … Over the last few months I have listing antique and ancient weapons all from one man’s lifetime collection. The small brass collection tag you see on the hilt is similar to others I have found on swords from this collection.
