Rare Ancient Greek Red-Figure PotteryKylix ~ Wine Cup Ancient Greek ~ Magna GraeciaApulian 350-325  BC Red-Figure Kylix. The elegant cup is punctuated by two delicate and graceful opposing horizontal handles which are angled vertically at the recurved ends.The inside of cup is exquisitely decorated in red-figure which depicts a lovely fashionable lady sitting on an outcropping and wearing a long garment and her hair gathered in a sakkos hairdo. She holds an oinochoe jug in her left hand and another object in her right--tambourine or platter. A lovely plant is seen in front of her on the left which balances the composition.  The scene is framed in a reserved red ring/circle with a black wave pattern. Beautifully painted with lots of added white. Span handle to handle 8-5/8 in. (22 cm).Diameter of bowl 5-7/8 in. (15 cm).Gorgeous piece.
