Description newportdog Store This chair is one of my very favorites and I am now downsizing. I am in love with childrens small chairs......always have. This particular chair originally had caning; however it was broken and I had no one to replace it; so with its marvelous form and looks, I found this exquisite tapestry that gave it an even prettier look. It is sturdy, solid and has NO repairs. It was used only for decoration. I didnot even let my grandchildren sit in it. It has an ample seat; but small as you can see in picture. It measures 24" high to top and has a carved out handle area in the back, all original. What a great idea. The seat is 11" from the floor and measures 11 inches wide and 10 inches deep. Saber legs and incredible TOLEWARE gilt painting is throughout on legs and back, what ART!!!!  AGAIN.......ALL ORIGINAL. I believe this chair dates, from my sources of where it came from (a very well known estate on L.I.) to be the early 1800s at very least.
