18th Ct 9" Pewter Plate with Makers and Owners Marks Start Price USD 24.95 Current Price USD 24.95 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Thursday, October 09, 2008 End Time Thursday, October 16, 2008 Location Washington, District Of Columbia See more about '18th Ct 9" Pewter Plate with Makers and Owners Marks' Description For sale here is an 18th century pewter plate, measuring 9 inches in diameter and 1-1/8 inches deep.  This antique plate has a 7/8 inch dished rim that ends in a plain slightly bulbous edge.  The patina is smokey gray, and the plate appears to have undergone some old repair.  This plate is marked on the reverse by the maker, with a hallmark consisting of a quality angel flanked by a D on the left and a J on the right. There is also a crowned Tudor rose with the D and the J in the crown, marking the high quality of this fine piece of pewter.  There is still a third mark that appears to be a faint image of Tudor rose mark.  This is the third of the plates listed today which bear the mark of "DJ".  This is a very collectible antique pewter plate that will grace your collection for a very reasonable opening bid.  Thank you for visiting my auctions, and good luck to you in all your bidding.  bdr   Place a Bid!
