Read our feedback and bid with confidence.  This is one of my favorite items because I can so easily identify with it.  It is a European wedding band of the Dark Ages, about 800 AD.  (We have a collection of wedding rings spanning over 2000 years!)  It is a simple kind made for a peasant.  It bronze, ring size 3 1/4, with thickened haunches and a small central expansion suggestive of a stone mounting. The wedding band had much the same function then as it does now.  It separates the married from the available and the act of putting it on solidifies the bond.  This one surely was one of the very few possessions of its owner which he did not produce himself but relied upon primitive industry for. wr7 Shipping options: First Class International shipping offers no insurance.
