In the Middle Ages, boys were groomed from early childhood (4-5 years old) to early adolescence (10-12 years old) for a trade or agricultural career.  The sons of soldiers were groomed to be soldiers and served as horse handlers and equipment cleaners and managers while learning the skills and gaining the strength of the soldier.  In this period, immediately before and through the first nine crusades, they often wore rings identical to those worn by soldiers (and the crusaders) made in a smaller size.  This is a bronze finger ring dating to about 1000-1200 AD made for a young man in training to be a soldier.  It is size 3 1/4 with a flared band and raised top with triple concentric circle motifs, the meaning of which has been lost.   Excellent condition as shown.  Many youths of the age to wear this ring went to fight the Crusades.  br1 Please note: I am always happy to ship worldwide and only charge actual postage costs only, I do not believe in packing or handling charges.
