An absolutely top specimen of the battle pick axe. Size: 140 mm. - very compact and heavy for the size. Normal pick axes are rather plain in the design, whereas this is decorated and cast from an advanced artistic mould. On the back of this museum quality axe is a large plate with a strongly pronounced central device. The socket is ending in an open sort of jar or mouth of an animal which is common on the Luristan axes. Very rare type from this area! Redish surface patina. Reff.
