The axe is shaped like a duckbill - a zoomorphic type. The axe can be dated to c. 1800 B.C. and is from the Caananite culture, area of ras Shamra. (Ugarit). The axe measure 107 mm. and is quite heavy for it's type. Condition: Choice! - complete uncleaned with pale dirt over green patina. Closed stress crack to the socket and a tiny chip to the blade - very attractive and quite scarce nowadays!
