You are bidding for a Vintage French Pewter Ladle   A large long-handled ladle with a cup-shaped bowl, used for serving soup, stew or sauce well before they were made of aluminium.This truly beautiful kitchen item, as been in the family for generations. Now passed on to me a while back, I feel that this item should belong with a great collection of pewter, in a home that will appreciate it's beauty.Use of pewter was common from the Middle Ages up until the various developments in glass-making during the 18th and 19th centuries. Pewter was the chief tableware until the making of porcelain.
